Stanley Main Beach is basically not recommended, as it's always gusty, and lots of windsurfers esp in the weekend. And the "officers" of the government water sports center are not welcoming anything putting risk to their users, they see us as playing an v dangerous sport in the area...
Anyway, there are quite a few times in a year when blowing strong easterly wind, the wind will be quite good filling in the whole bay, it's good to lauch at the spot shown on the google map and ride well upwind & do whatever we want as: wind is so precious in HK.
If u have a whole day, i think it always better to go to Shiu Hau Wan or Cheung Chau. However, if u have only morning, then u can try out Shek O back beach where usu better with ENE, or Stanley when E. Stanley is a mysterious spot, it can be no wind in everywhere, but good wind over there... Lastly, do be careful, play safe & smart at stanley!
